Network of Public Organisation and Governance (Noos)

The national Network of Public Organisation and Governance (Noos) is a cooperative, interdisciplinary network of social science departments at Swedish universities and colleges. The target group for Noos’ activities is doctoral students and supervisors who are conducting research on public sector organisation, management and governance in a broad sense, regardless of the discipline to which they belong. Noos’ main function is, through cooperation, to promote exchange and development of knowledge and the construction of networks within the research field.

Cooperative activities within the framework of Noos:

  • A national two day doctoral seminar held on an annual basis and aimed at doctoral students and supervisors within the research field
  • Dissemination of information on third level programmes provided by the participating departments so that the doctoral students in the network can apply to them, irrespective of which department arranges them (on this website)
  • Dissemination of information on public defences within the subject field (on this website)
  • In the long term joint doctoral courses will be developed and offered within the framework of the network

Doctoral Seminar in Public Organisation and Governance

The first national doctoral seminar will take place on 10-11 February 2011. The School of Public Administration at the University of Gothenburg is the host department for the network’s first national doctoral seminar. Information and invitations to the seminar will soon be available.
